AVISOMNIA TAROT
AVISOMNIA TAROT
Drawing inspiration from the classic Rider-Waite-Smith imagery but transforming it into something entirely original, the Avisomnia Tarot by Orla Bird is a captivating geometric experiment. This deck blends a sophisticated interpretation of mystical symbolism with a design that feels like a dream of interconnected organisms, carefully ordered. Its name, literally meaning "dreams of the birds," perfectly encapsulates its essence: something fleeting, ethereal, and profoundly symbolic.
After two years of study and dedication, the artist presents us with a deck that is both innovative and intriguingly ambiguous, making it an incredibly effective tool for interpretation. It includes a detailed guide for deeper readings, but never forget that your imagination is your greatest ally on this symbolic journey.
Orla Bird is an illustrator, cat lover, and plant enthusiast. Inspired by vivid dreams, she creates surrealist, hand-drawn illustrations that weave her own mystical narrative by combining seemingly unrelated elements. Her artistic name, meaning "female eagle" in Croatian, is not her real name, though it was the one her parents gave her at birth. With a master’s degree in architecture and six years of experience in the field, she decided in 2020 to open her own illustration and design studio, where tarot has become her most personal and successful medium of expression.
