Codex: The Art of Divination is a work of an encyclopaedic nature, a small legacy from an artist as prolific and accomplished as Daniel Martin Diaz. Images shaped by different moments, states of mind, and lines of inquiry come together as fragments of knowledge and experimentation that, while heterogeneous, enter into dialogue and gradually reveal themselves as a whole, where meaning emerges through overlap, contrast, and intuitive connection between symbols.
There are no fixed answers, but an ever-changing view of the occult, cosmology, metaphysics, mystery, and, as is characteristic of the artist, science. Archetypes are not presented as isolated answers, but as parts of a living system, opening paths from which to observe who you are and how you relate to the present moment, as life continues to evolve.
The deck includes a 52-page guidebook that accompanies readings without imposing them, intended as support rather than authority. Codex is offered as a tool for contemplation and for divination understood as listening: a gathered system of knowledge, a quiet archive to return to over time.
With four published art books, features in media such as the Los Angeles Times and The New York Times, and collaborations with HBO, Netflix, and Warner Bros., visual artist Daniel Martin Diaz is a creator in every sense. His exploration moves between art, science, technology, and the metaphysical, inviting viewers to question the very structure of reality. Discover his journey into the arcane and the singular beauty of his creations.
