Mari in the Sky returns with a new deck. From the ashes of silence rises My Friend Fire, a gentle flame inviting us to listen to the voice of the body, the instinct, and the soul. A fire that does not destroy, but awakens the life that beats deep within, reminding us of the strength of being alive.
You can enjoy My Friend Fire in two editions: the First Edition and the Luxe Linen Edition. Both versions share the same high quality and attention to detail, yet they differ in texture and format.
- The First Edition is printed on 350 gsm artist paper with a matte scratch-resistant lamination, just like The Gentle Tarot First Edition. The cards measure 7 cm x 12 cm and have a smooth, silky finish that enhances the depth of the colors and illustrations.
- The Luxe Linen Edition is printed on 330 gsm German Black Core cardstock, an opaque black-core material that provides extra body, durability, and a beautiful linen texture to the touch. This premium-quality cardstock ensures total opacity and a professional feel. The cards measure 7 cm x 10,5 cm.
Both editions feature matte gold edges and a golden-foil back design, bringing a luminous, handcrafted touch, like a reflection of the fire that gives life to this deck: warm, protective, and full of intention.
Mari in the Sky donates 5% of the proceeds from this deck to ocean and climate change research.
Mariza Ryce Aparicio-Tovar, known artistically as Mari in the Sky, is an artist and illustrator from Alaska. Her work is inspired by nature and the heritage of her land’s Indigenous peoples, as well as by her own personal story and "indigenous spirituality." The creation of The Gentle Tarot represents the fullest expression of her inner journey, where peace, mental health, and connection with nature are the guiding forces for both the artist and the reader. For Mari in the Sky, human well-being, both mind and body, and the ecosystem are deeply intertwined: caring for one nourishes the other. Working outdoors, counting salmon in Alaska’s reserves, she experienced a profound connection with the landscape and found the inspiration that would become this tarot deck, a tangible and universal expression of her vision.
