Tarot was born as a game. Somewhere along the way, we forgot. Playdate with the Universe Tarot reminds us: 78 handmade collages by Stephanie Gilbert rooted in the Rider-Waite-Smith but speaking a different language, one where Swords become Pencils, Wands become Matches and Pentacles become Diamonds. Not a joke, a choice. Stephanie created this deck card by card during one of the hardest times of her life, and what came out of that process was not heavy or dark, but the opposite: bright, playful, free. As if cutting and pasting were a way of putting yourself back together. Perhaps it is.
