ROSA OBSCURA TAROT
ROSA OBSCURA TAROT
The figures in the Rosa Obscura Tarot vibrate between the human, the animal, and the botanical. They don’t fully belong to any of these realms but instead merge into a symbolic blend, a hymn to life, rich with meaning. What meanings? The ones you’ll uncover in your readings. Artist Orla Bird invites you to dance through her Victorian geometries, creating a ritual that is both minimalist and majestic.
Discover the 79 cards of a tarot that captures experiences, emotions, and delicate visions. Meet the queen of all flowers: the Rosa Obscura, reimagined in a thousand surprising forms. The language of plants has never been so elegant.
Orla Bird is an illustrator, cat lover, and plant enthusiast. Inspired by vivid dreams, she creates surrealist, hand-drawn illustrations that weave her own mystical narrative by combining seemingly unrelated elements. Her artistic name, meaning "female eagle" in Croatian, is not her real name, though it was the one her parents gave her at birth. With a master’s degree in architecture and six years of experience in the field, she decided in 2020 to open her own illustration and design studio, where tarot has become her most personal and successful medium of expression.
- 79 cards (78 standard tarot cards and one special card featuring the Rosa Obscura visual, to which you can assign your own meaning), sized 7 x 12 cm, printed on 350 gsm paper with a matte finish. The cards are very flexible, making them feel slightly thinner (like 330 gsm), which makes them perfect for smooth riffle shuffling.
