SLAVIC FOLKLORE LENORMAND
SLAVIC FOLKLORE LENORMAND
"And they lived happily ever after?" Fairy tales can offer us different endings... and unexpected lessons. Those familiar with the fantastical literature of Eastern Europe know that respect for nature, the challenge of the unknown, and controlled chaos are just as central as happiness itself. Faina Lorah, author and illustrator of numerous tarot and oracle decks, introduces us to a Lenormand deck ruled by infernal dragons, child-eating witches, and immortal kings—yet never letting go of our hand. Because danger draws us in and feeds our most genuine stories.
The Russian-born illustrator Faina Lorah proposes a traditional yet modern touch in all her art, working with various techniques and sources of inspiration. The artist has been inspired by palekh miniatures, a style of illustration characterized by figures of people, saints, animals or fantastic creatures on black backgrounds, typically depicted on lacquered craft objects, such as jewelry boxes and plates. Faina's style finds its roots in the history of his country.
