THE YUKIKA TAROT

Stasia Burrington brings us another expression of exquisitely Nippo-American sweetness. As a child, Stasia created “magic machines”: pathways built from found objects at home, where marbles or small toys travelled through tunnels that deeply transformed them, like travellers moving between times and dimensions.

Yukika, which means “happy flower” in Japanese, carries forward that same idea. It is a tool that transforms the sensitive artist, projecting them beyond themselves and playing with their perception of reality. An 80-card deck inspired by the Rider-Waite-Smith, created for those who play, dream, and dare; for those unafraid to cross the threshold, among soft colours and gentle forms.

Stasia Burrington is a Japanese-American artist based in Seatac, Washington, with over 30 years of experience in illustration. As a visual storyteller, she is the creator of the Sasuraibito Tarot, as well as The Empty Cup Oracle and Space Girl. She also illustrated the bestselling children’s book Mae Among the Stars. Her work has earned her the title of “Master of Erotic Art” (2020) and wide international recognition. Today, she works full-time as an illustrator, creating and shipping artwork worldwide.
